Karen is an experienced and practical, pragmatic adviser on risk. She has a national reputation in her specialist fields and has been recognised by the tax profession at the Lexis Nexis Taxation Awards on several occasions.
She is a Chartered Tax Advisor, as well as an experienced professional indemnity and litigation solicitor. Karen has also achieved the International Certificate in Risk Management (IRM).
Karen is noted as a Leader in Tax in the International Global Review of Women in Tax, as well as achieving high rankings in Chambers and Legal 500.
Karen is a member of the Risk and Audit Committee of the IRM.

Polly Coram
Polly Coram is a dual-qualified solicitor and IRM Certified risk management professional, with over a decade of experience in solving problems and supporting businesses. From navigating complex issues to building proactive risk management strategies, Polly specialises in helping clients address their immediate challenges with practical, easy-to-implement solutions that deliver lasting value.
Polly’s career began in contentious litigation, working with Karen Eckstein on high-value and complex cases involving professional negligence claims, tax disputes, trusts, and estates. During this time, Karen’s practical, solutions-driven approach inspired Polly’s own passion and determination to “get things right in a practical way”. Transitioning into industry, Polly brought this ethos to managing risk and compliance on a non-contentious basis, focusing not only on resolving current issues, but also on implementing lasting changes that would set the organisation up for future success.
Polly’s expertise spans a broad range of areas, including acting as Company Secretary and advising professional services firms and not-for-profits on key issues such as conflict policies, anti-bribery measures, GDPR, succession planning, and constitutional documents. She has guided clients, insurers, and stakeholders through risk management reviews and strategies that reduce risk exposure, avoid claims, improve operational efficiency, and boost revenue.
